In a matter of hours, the Chevrolet Warriors will take on the Nashua Dolphins in the final of the action-packed MTN40 series. Travelling to their home grounds at Buffalo Park in East London, the Chevrolet Warriors will be hoping to continue their winning streak in East London this season.
The Eastern Cape is hungry for a victory in a major series and today's game is seen as one of the most important matches in the franchise's history to date. The team taking on the Dolphins today will be largely unchanged from the team that beat the Nashua Cape Cobras last Friday in the semi-finals and includes a number of Protea or former Protea players. The squad includes:
•· Jacques Kallis
•· Ashwell Prince
•· Colin Ingram
•· Justin Kreusch
•· Mark Boucher
•· Davy Jacobs (capt.)
•· Johan Botha
•· Nicky Boje
•· Wayne Parnell
•· Rusty Theron
•· Jon-Jon Smuts
•· Makhaya Ntini
•· Lonwabo Tsotsobe
•· Andrew Birch
Colin Ingram and Rusty Theron are also in the running for the MTN40 Cricketer of the Year award which will be announced at the end of the season. Ingram currently tops the log as the highest scoring batsman in the series, while Theron is the leading wicket taker.
