Johan Botha completes third charity cycle challenge at Axxess DSL St. George's

Known as one of the country's top spin bowlers, the Chevrolet Warriors' Johan Botha put on his cycling shoes for spinning of a different kind when he completed the third installment of his well-known 24 hour Cycling Challenges at 12 noon on Sunday 1 August 2010. Johan cycled around Axxess DSL St. George's for 24 hours in order to raise funds for people with special needs.

Together with a number of supporting cyclists which include former television star Marlon Roelfze, Johan managed 255 laps around Axxess DSL St. George's totaling 574.5km. During Johan's two-hour sleep break, cyclists from General Motors South Africa, the event's main sponsor, continued cycling on his behalf.

Thanks to the fantastic support from cyclists, the public and corporate sponsors, Johan succeeded in reaching his target of R150 000 for donation to the Nkosinathi Foundation of Blind and Partially Sighted People, Quest School for Autism and the Cerebral Palsy Association.
